Community Health Worker Conference
Each year, the Heart Disease, Stroke, and Diabetes Prevention Unit hosts the Community Health Worker Conference. This conference is for community health workers from across the state to come together to learn new skills, support and empower each other, and showcase their own successes.
Thank you to the over 440 attendees for helping make the 2018 Community Health Worker Conference such a success!

The Heart Disease, Stroke, and Diabetes Prevention Unit offers in person trainings for healthcare professionals including clinic staff, community health workers, community organizations (such as churches and fitness clubs), employee wellness groups, and public health professionals. Our team will come to your location, free of charge, and provide one of two trainings:
- How to check and manage blood pressure.
- How to prevent and manage diabetes and prediabetes.
Each training is 2.5 hours long, available in English and Spanish, and can be adjusted to fit your group's needs. For more information or to schedule a training, please email diabetes@doh.wa.gov or call 360-236-3677.
