In the new biennial budget, the Washington State Legislature allocated $15 million in funding (for the 2015-2017 biennium) to support a cannabis education and public health program, and for tobacco prevention activities. Since that time, the Cannabis Prevention and Education Program and the Tobacco Control and Prevention Program have been developing plans for how to spend these funds.
In response to feedback and questions we have received, we want to provide additional information about the details of the required areas of work—media campaign, hotline and community grants.
