Coupons in Grocery Stores
Who can participate?
Shoppers who use the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) (formerly know as food stamps) and Summer EBT benefits qualify for SNAP Produce Match coupons.
Where is SNAP Produce Match offered?
Shoppers can earn SNAP Produce Match coupons at participating grocery and retail stores in Washington. For a list of participating grocers, see above.
How much is a coupon worth?
This coupon is for $10 off your next purchase of eligible fruits and vegetables.
What fruits and vegetables are eligible?
All fresh, frozen and canned fruits and vegetables with no added salt, fat, or sugar are eligible for earning and redeeming.
What fruits and vegetables are *not* eligible?
Fruits and vegetables with added salt, fat, or sugar. For example, chocolate covered strawberries or a vegetable platter with dips do not qualify. Fresh and dried herbs such as cilantro and parsley do not qualify at this time.
Can I use self-checkout to earn or redeem a coupon?
You can earn a coupon at self-checkout, but you are unable to redeem a coupon at self-checkout at this time.
How much can I earn per day/are there limits on how many coupons I can earn?
You can only earn one coupon per transaction. For example, even if you spend $20 on qualifying fruits and vegetables, you will only get one coupon. However, there are no daily limits on how many coupons you can earn. For example, if you earn a coupon and on the same day but make another purchase or go to another store and spend another $10 on qualifying fruits and vegetables, you will get another coupon.
Please note: If you use a coupon and your SNAP total for qualifying fruits and vegetables drops below $10, you will not earn an additional coupon. You must spend at least $10 in SNAP funds on qualifying items to earn another coupon.
How many coupons can I redeem at one time?
As many as you want! There is no limit on the number of coupons you can redeem in one transaction. For example, if you have 4 coupons ($10 each), you can redeem $40 of qualifying fruits and vegetables in one trip.
Do I need to redeem my coupon at the same store that I earned the coupon?
Coupons must be redeemed at stores in the same chain that they were earned (for example, you can earn a coupon at Safeway in Clark County and redeem it at a Safeway in Cowlitz County). However, coupons are not transferable between different chains (a coupon earned at Fiesta Foods cannot be redeemed at Safeway).
Can I earn the coupon if I have an active SNAP/EBT card, but no funds left on the card?
No. To earn a coupon, you must spend at least $10 on qualifying fruits and vegetables using your SNAP/EBT card.
Do the coupons expire?
Yes, coupons expire one month from the date the coupon is printed. The exact expiration date will be printed on the coupon.
What happens if I lose my coupon?
You must present the cashier with the original printed coupon in order to redeem the offer on the coupon. If you lose the coupon you earned, there is no replacement or refund.
What if a coupon does not print out when I buy at least $10 worth of qualifying fruits and vegetables with my SNAP/EBT card at a participating grocery store?
First, check your receipt to make sure that you spent at least $10 in SNAP funds on fresh/frozen fruits and vegetables without added salt, sugar, or fat. Coupons and other discounts might have been used that brought your SNAP purchase below $10 and, in this case, another coupon is not earned.
If you check your receipt and still believe that a coupon should have printed:

What purchases qualify for SNAP Produce Match?
When you buy at least $10 of qualifying fruits and vegetables with your SNAP/EBT card, you automatically receive a EBT Produce Match coupon.
What fruits and vegetables qualify for SNAP Produce Match?
All fresh, frozen and canned fruits and vegetables with no added salt, fat, or sugar qualify for earning and redeeming SNAP Produce Match.
Using Amazon Fresh
Do I need to sign up for an account to use SNAP Produce Match online?
Yes. Shoppers need to have an Amazon account to make Amazon Fresh purchases. Visit amazon.com/snap to add your SNAP/EBT card to your account and learn more about Amazon's SNAP EBT program.
How do I add my EBT card to my Amazon Fresh account?
Visit amazon.com/snap to add your SNAP/EBT card and learn more about Amazon’s SNAP EBT program.
Use your benefits by placing a new eligible order on Amazon Fresh. Keep the option “use your promotional balance” selected to apply benefits to your order, and to continue earning $5 on eligible purchases.
How much is the SNAP Produce Match coupon for?
The coupon is for $10 off a future purchase of fresh, frozen or canned fruits and vegetables with no added salt, sugar or fat.
Can I use a partial amount of my SNAP Produce Match coupon?
No. Your SNAP Produce Match coupon(s) are only valid for one transaction.
Are there limits to how many SNAP Produce Match coupons I can earn?
You can only earn one coupon per transaction. For example, even if you buy $20 of eligible fruits and vegetables, you will only receive one coupon.
How many SNAP Produce Match coupons can I redeem at one time?
At this time, all available coupons will automatically be applied if you choose to use your coupons at checkout.
Can I earn a SNAP Produce Match coupon if I have an active SNAP/EBT card, but no funds left on the card?

Do SNAP Produce Match coupons expire?

Your coupon will be added to your account once your order has been shipped within your selected delivery or pickup timeframe.

Can I use my SNAP Produce Match coupon to cover delivery fees or tip?
No, SNAP Produce Match coupons are only applied to qualifying fresh, frozen or canned fruits and vegetables only.
Can I use multiple forms of payment when I use my SNAP Produce Match coupon?
Yes, once earned, SNAP Produce Match coupons can be combined with multiple forms of payment such as SNAP/EBT card, credit, debit cards, gift cards, etc.
Can I request a refund or cancel items purchased using SNAP Produce Match coupons?
Yes. If you require a refund for items paid for using SNAP Produce Match coupons, the coupon will be re-issued. If you cancel items paid for using SNAP Produce Match coupons, the coupon will be re-issued.
Using Safeway Online
Do I need to sign up for an account to use SNAP Produce Match online?
Yes. Shoppers need to have a Safeway.com account (called “for U”) to make purchases online. If you don't already have an account, you can sign up for one at Safeway.com.
How much is the SNAP Produce Match coupon for?
The coupon is for $10 off a future purchase of qualifying fruits and vegetables.
How many SNAP Produce Match offers can I earn?
You can only earn one coupon per week. For example, even if you spend $20 on qualifying fruits and vegetables, you will only get one coupon.
Do the SNAP Produce Match coupons expire?
Yes. The expiration date appears on the SNAP Produce Match coupon. The expiration date is approximately 90 days after it was issued.
How do I redeem my SNAP Produce Match coupon?
After you log into your Safeway for U account, go to the “Coupons and Deals” section on the left side of your screen. Find the SNAP Produce Match coupon and clip the coupon to use on your next purchase.
Please note that if you redeem a coupon and your SNAP total for qualifying fruits and vegetables drops below $10 as a result, you will not earn an additional coupon. Shoppers must have at least $10 debited from their SNAP EBT card to earn an additional coupon.
Where do I find my online SNAP Produce Match coupon? The SNAP Produce Match coupon is available in the “Coupons and Deals” section of your Safeway for U account. You can also find your coupon by typing “SNAP Produce Match” in the search bar.
How many SNAP Produce Match coupons can I redeem at one time?
There is no limit on the number of coupons you can redeem each time you checkout. For example, if you have 4 coupons ($10 each), you can redeem $40 of qualifying fruits and vegetables in one trip.

SNAP Produce Match offers are put into your Safeway for U account each Friday. If your offer doesn’t show up in your “Coupons and Deals” section, check the following Friday.
Can SNAP Produce Match coupons that are earned online be redeemed in-store?
Yes, coupons that are earned online can be redeemed for online or in-store purchases. Clip the coupon in your Safeway for U account and the coupon will be automatically applied to your next online or in-store purchase.
SNAP Produce Match coupons that are earned in-store can only be redeemed in-store; they CANNOT be redeemed for online purchases.
